NAPOLI
Music from the Kingdom of Naples

Arcadia Summer 2019 will focus on the music from Naples and surroundings, around the figures of Alessandro Scarlatti, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Leonardo Leo, Leonardo Vinci, Francesco Durante, and many other composers who made Naples the outpost for art and music in Europe.
Next to the usual chamber music sessions there will be a big “tutti” group, involving all the participants, making the main program of the course and presented to the public at the end of the week.
For whom?
Voices: Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, Basses (ripieni singers and soloists)
Instruments: strings (including viola da gamba), flutes, oboe, bassoon, harpsichord/organ, theorbo.
Pitch will be A=415, we prefer period instruments.

Week program
1 August: Arrival of the participants and welcome in the evening
2-6 August: see day program
7 August: final concert of the participants (specific schedule will be announced during the week)
8 August: departure after breakfast
during the week there will be the teacher’s concert and the chamber music concert
